Drama as a form of Entertainment

 DRAMA AS A FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT 

   Drama is the act fiction  represented in performance. There are different types of dramas such as play ,   opera , mime, ballet and etc.

 Drama word is coming from the Greek word. It is meaning to do  or to act.

     Entertainment is the activity  which gives pleasure and delight to the audience. 

Therefore drama is a best tool to the entertain people. 

I would like to write about the drama with my life experience. 

I did drama to the G.C.E O/L 2015. We had a practical test as well as.

I have learnt two types of dramas.

1)     NATTYA DARMI drama

2)     LOKA DARMI drama

 

Nattya darmi Dramas  are using music their acts.

          Ex;- Sinhabahu, Maname

Lokadarmi drama are using general things their acts. 

         Ex;- Magul prasthawa,  praposhithayo

There are some criteria to evaluate drama practical parts in G.C.E O/L.

1)     Voice

2)     Conformity to character and occasion

3)     Emotional representation

4)     Physical expression.

Actually doing drama is help to build a aesthetic and sensitive person in my self.

 

And  I have acted  some stage dramas and I  have  watched some stage dramas.

So I will like to write about dramas in association with that. 

This writing is can be happened my life experience without drama. But I thoughts get a approach to write with my life experience.

I have been acting stage dramas since my childhood. 

I have acted sun day school dramas, School dramas competition, LAKRIVI association drama competition.

I can remember in LAKRIVI drama competition We got runners-up.

And my golden opportunity was tavour hall school drama competition. I participated that in my A/L's time period. 

We did thurudalusa drama which was created by  Rev. Fr . Prageeth dishan. And it was a NATTYA DARMI and LOKADARMI MIX drama.  I was also a actor that drama. 

Actually it was a very meaningful drama. Rev. Fr. prageeth has thought about childhood very broadly in that drama. 

That drama is based on a little leaves but it is really mention the little children.

There are two main actors in that drama.

                  1) Thuru dalusa is the main actor.

                 

                2) Marutha ralahami is the 2^nd main actor.

Thuru dlusa means the small leaves.

Marutha ralahami means the wind. 

And collection of the six people are create the tree and they are the identify next incident to the audience.

It story marutha ralahami was the chipper. He carried thurudalusa to see the world. In the real world we face like marutha ralahami. He was carrying thuru dalusa see the world.

While they were going they faced group of children who watch the blue films, after that thuru dlusa asked from marutha ralahami what are they watching? Marutha ralahami didn't explain what they are doing but he was never implicit they are doing wrong thing. In the society we can see that kind of people also.

And after that They were looking children who suffering from drug addiction. 

Likewise that drama was showing after difference things. But ultimately very sadly speaking thurudalusa was burn from sunshine an he became die. We can see lots of that kind of people in the society.

that is the thiru dalusa’s story simply.

Actually that drama is giving lots of messages to the world. And it is showing bad side of the world and society.

Drama can be given message as funny types, Mockery , Serious or etc. 

I can remember stage dramas which I have watched. Magul prasthawa,

Sokari, sinhabahu, maname , praposhithayo and etc. Actually watching stage drama is my fashion.

I would like to talk about one drama above that dramas. I choose sokari drama. It is a NATTYA DARMI drama. It mention the our ancient cultural thing EKA GEI KEMA.  Actually that drama has lots of cultural tings based on Indian culture. Because Paraya, sokari, guruhami likewise coming from India.  This stage drama act only the man. It means even sokari act a men. That is simply idea about sokari news.

We can see even Sinhala or abroad dramas are giving any message to the world. 

When we talk overseas stage dramas every country has  stage drama culture.

If we take India, Pakistan , Bangladesh, Maldives and etc has stage dramas according to their culture. And when we talk about the Western stage dramas can’t forget William Shakespeare. He was an English playwright, poet and actor. If we see William Shakespeare drama we can remember  Hamlet, Macbeth,  Romeo and juliet ,Othello, king Lear, the Tempest, The Merchant of venice, and Etc.

However if we do drama we can develop our leadership skills. If we do drama it’s creating creative and aesthetic man. And if we do drama we can develop our rational thinking.

 Finally I can tell drama is becoming us complete person. That is the ultimate objective.
